One of the main things i've always struggled with is my focus when i'm studying 😩 Something that should take me an hour max to get through ends up being the only thing I study in an entire day :/
Do you guys have anything you'd recommend to help with productivity? Maybe an app or a website?
Follow-up Q; is Anki really worth the hype? 🤔
I find that taking a 20 minutes break every 60 minutes really recharges me! I work best in shorter bursts of work. In terms of the anki discourse I must say I lean towards Quizlet instead
Im with Malaika, quizlet over anki for flashcards :)
on a day to day basis I use a pomodoro timer for studying (25 mins on 5 mins off) and then for exam season I use forest! Deffo recommend forest if you feel the temptation to go on your phone while studying - its also super satisfying to see all the hours youve studied in a day, week etc!
I also find booking a study space at the uni library helps me focus as studying in my room can distract me a lot - a change of scenery can help make it a bit more fun too :)
Omg I swear by the forest app because my attention span lasts literally 2 mins And Quizlet >>>> Anki Anki seems so intimidating
yaaas me too I love the flora/forest app thing, it helps make studying so much more productive
I've always wanted to use anki , but it seems so difficult to use :/
definitely seems like a lot of effort and I’m not sure if it’s worth it :(
I’ve been using YouTube videos with pre-set songs or study with me videos recently which I know are of a certain length of time, be it an hour or three hours. This way when I check on it sometimes it makes me feel a little guilty if I know I haven’t done much in that time which holds me accountable. As for anki, I do use it and it’s actually really useful in helping me to ‘upload’ information into my brain! It’s a lot faster to make cards there compared to quizlet and I think the spaced repetition algorithm is really good as well
make sure you use our study with me videos on YouTube! ;D
I personally find that taking regular breaks helps so much! Sometimes you feel bad for constantly going on your phone, but actually if you set yourself little time intervals to do work then go on your phone then it's more productive :D
wish I could give you some tips for his one, but my being in Year3 it's nothing short of a miracle- my attention span when working is whack- but I'll happily stare at a wall and daydream for 2 hours😬 pomodoro and putting my phone far away seems to help, and I usually delete social media apps during exams x
I normally find that I work for about an hour and then take a 15 minute break (this is in theory - obviously these breaks go on a bit toooo long sometimes haha), but during exam season this is really helpful. Also, I tend to put my phone downstairs or somewhere else for the whole morning, take it at lunch and then leave it until the evening again - it really helps
