The return to uni nears, and it's got me reminiscing my first day almost 2 years ago! I remember being totally clueless, sat in a large lecture theatre feeling like I was way out of my depth. It's got me thinking, maybe there were things I could have done to feel more prepared?
What did you guys do to get ready for medical school?
Whilst everyone may seem nervous and shy to talk to new people, I would suggest just smiling. You've already done the hard part in getting in. Enjoy the moment and soak it in. Try to speak to people you're sat next to as these people may become you're first friends in medical school
I agree! I donโt think thereโs any real preparation to be done, just being yourself and making an effort to approach people is enough!
And even though youโre bricking it yourself, try n be brave and speak to as many people as possible. I did that with Najma and look at us now! ๐๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
Exactly, great advice ๐๐ and that was where it all began for you guys (as the saying goes ๐).
I just wanted to make sure that I turned up at the right lecture theatre ๐๐ Went for a test run and everything.
Yeah made that mistake a few times during my first weeks of uni. Check your timetables and emails frequently as the location of lectures may change
Bro I'm still making that mistake now and again ๐๐
Honestly I was google mapping the lecture theatre the night before!!!
How did you guys find the transition to med-school?
Thing is there is soooo much going on- just enjoy it and embrace every opportunity.
And with mates- you meet them through people or just by chance!!! It might be instantaneous or it might take time- be patient!!!
