I'm really trying to make the most of this unique opportunity to have practically unlimited time and resources to pursue hobbies, interest and further studies. However, my biggest setback is finding the motivation to undertake these, particularly when it comes to medical revision related content! I do love medicine with all my heart but with each day that passes I feel my (little) knowledge slipping away 😩
Does anyone have any tactics that are keeping them enthused in revising or exploring new content, perhaps more clinically oriented? I'm considering working on my (many) unfinished notes from last semester, is anyone else doing the same?
Really just looking to hear where everyone else is at during these times, any and all advice is much welcome! 🙏 💖
I'm not really the best to answer this seeing as my attitude has been; medicine? who dat? But i think bc of the whole covid situation a lot of universities have created online courses that are free for anyone to do! I think Hithin is doing an online anatomy course offered by Yale? I'm thinking of doing it too!
https://www.coursera.org/learn/trunk-anatomy I'm not sure if this is the exact one but it looks pretty good!
the amount of times i repeated the word think is ironic because my mind has been empty since march 18th
omgosh thank you! that's a really good idea actually, maybe having a specific course to follow I'll be able to be stricter with myself in terms of goals and deadlines. I think you do a great job of thinking ;)
Ahhh I wish I was being more productive , but lack of motivation makes it hard to do any unfinished uni work. The online anatomy course actually sounds quite interesting I think I might start with that :)
I think I might start making to do lists, to try and structure my days a little bit more and actually get some work done, obviously nothing too serious but I think it'll help me be more productive and actually feel like a medical student again 😂
my to do list
yeah to do lists seem to be the way forward, I did make one for this week except I just ... didn't consult it at all ... 😬 next week we'll do better 😤
I’ve found that I’m more productive when I actually decide on one task that i have to complete the next day the night before so that even if I procrastinate the rest of the day with my other tasks at least I will have finished that one thing which makes me feel better about myself - personally if I feel like I’m making progress it encourages me to keep going!
ah that's a great idea! I tend to overthink, like if I don't do everything I don't feel successful, but I totally agree, just focusing on one thing will be much easier and help me feel more productive ✨
I think do something that you always wanted to do- some people are doing some great things at the mo
@thehijabimedic’s video on productivity and motivation is really helpful (https://www.scrubbed-up.com/vlogs)!! But I agree with you, I really struggle with motivation 😖😖i find it really hard now that we have no exams to work towards
I have watched it, a great video! Maybe I should re-watch and make some notes 😣
Ah that's my exact problem! I need a goal with some severe consequences, gosh that's terrible 😂😂
